Country, folk rock and Americana live music from emerging Austin artist Angelyn at The Clive.
Angelyn is playing The Clive on Tuesday, October 13, and it's part of a residency that puts her at the front of the bar's new weekly country house band. She's a 26-year-old Austin-based singer-songwriter and emerging country artist, and this is one of the nights she's fronting the room.
She didn't start here. Angelyn is originally from Huntington Beach, California, and she got her start playing covers before forming the band Blind Innocence. That group put out a debut album, Little Girl, and toured it nationwide, but they broke up in 2020 when COVID hit. After that, she moved to Austin and has spent the last few years building a name for herself in the city's country scene. People around here have come to know her for a soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics.
Her sound pulls from country, folk rock, Americana, and classic rock, and this residency at The Clive on Rainey Street puts her at the head of a lineup of Austin country musicians. It's a good way to hear her work in a room that's built around that sound.
