Andrew Duplantis Band plays Hole in the Wall on Tuesday, July 28, starting at 6:30 PM. It's a straightforward bill: the band is the sole feature of the night.
If you're not familiar with the room, Hole in the Wall is a campus-area staple at 2538 Guadalupe. It opened in 1974 as a folkie hangout and a favorite stage for Townes Van Zandt, Nanci Griffith, and Blaze Foley. Over the decades, it shifted toward punk, cosmic country, and alternative, launching the careers of Timbuk3, Fastball, Spoon, and Shakey Graves. It's a historic two-stage dive with a collective capacity of a couple hundred, and it still hosts live music every night. It's served as a proving ground for new bands for a long time, though it did briefly shutter in 2002 and came close to being priced out in 2015.
