Author Andra Liemandt reads her book 'Enoughie Buddy and Friends: Superpowers Activate!' with a copy signing at BookPeople.
Andra Liemandt is coming to BookPeople on Tuesday, October 13, to read her children's book Enoughie Buddy and Friends: Superpowers Activate! and sign copies afterward. It's a reading and signing, so you'll hear the story first and then have a chance to get your copy signed.
If you haven't come across her work yet, the book centers on Enoughie Buddy, a blue, round character with antennae that help him find his own emotions. Liemandt and her daughters imagined him about a decade ago as a way to talk about feelings with children, and he eventually became the star of her first children's book, Enoughie Buddy Finds His Superpower, which came out in October 2024. Since then, the character has reached thousands of kids through school outreach and partnerships with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, PBS, and Just Keep Livin', the nonprofit run by Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey.
Liemandt is also the founder and CEO of The Kindness Campaign, an Austin-based national nonprofit she started in 2015 after the suicide of a 12-year-old family friend. The organization focuses on building emotionally healthy humans by teaching kindness and emotional literacy through programming, tools, and experiences in homes, communities, and schools. What started as a personal response to loss has grown into a vehicle for improving emotional health on a broad scale, and Enoughie Buddy is a big part of how that work reaches younger audiences.
