Musical event at The White Horse in Austin, continuing the venue's honky-tonk tradition.
All My(eux) Groovy Friends is playing The White Horse on Sunday, August 9, at 6 PM. It's the second of two Sunday dates this month, the first having been on August 2.
If you're not familiar with the room, The White Horse is at 500 Comal on the Eastside. It opened in December 2011, when co-owners Nathan Hill and Denis O'Donnell carried on the honky-tonk tradition of the neighborhood. They drew on residencies they curated during their days managing the Hole in the Wall, and the venue helped launch modern outlaw country acts like Mike & the Moonpies and Leo Rondeau. Sundays have long belonged to Eastside institution Conjunto Los Pinkys, and the low-set stage and the packed, multi-generational dancing crowd have become hallmarks of the place. That's the kind of room this fits into—a spot where the dance floor is as much a part of the night as the music on stage.

This particular run is a two-part thing, with the August 2 show already behind us, so the August 9 date is the one left on the calendar.
