Cuban jazz pianist Alfredo Rodriguez and percussionist Pedrito Martinez perform at the ATX Jazz Fest, blending jazz improvisation and Afro-Cuban rhythm.
Alfredo Rodriguez & Pedrito Martinez play the Moody Amphitheater on Saturday, April 3, as part of the inaugural ATX Jazz Fest. The festival runs from April 2 to 4, and Rodriguez and Martinez take the main stage on the second day. The pairing brings together Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodriguez and percussionist Pedrito Martinez, who blend jazz improvisation with Afro-Cuban rhythm.
They're one of the acts in the first edition of the ATX Jazz Fest, presented by ATX Chamber Music and Jazz (ATX Music). The festival is billed as the most concentrated gathering of jazz talent ever assembled in Texas, with more than 29 hours of live music over three days across multiple stages. Friday night opens with an exclusive 300-seat Platinum-only concert at Assembly Hall, while Saturday and Sunday move to the Moody Amphitheater main stage. The weekend is rounded off with a VIP Opening Night party on Friday and a VIP Late Night Show on Saturday, plus late-night jam sessions and local Austin food vendors.
ATX Music calls this its fourth season, 2026-2027, and its most ambitious undertaking yet. Outside the festival, they run a regular concert season at venues like The Mansion Austin, the Music Box, and Kodosky Manor, and they continue their education initiative, Everyone Deserves Art.
