A night of grunge tributes to Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots with Dankeshön, Three Legged Dog and Firecracker Smile.
Mohawk is hosting A Summer Night of Grunge on Thursday, July 30, a tribute night dedicated to Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. Three bands are on the bill, each taking one of those names: Dankeshön handles Nirvana, Three Legged Dog does Alice in Chains and Firecracker Smile covers Stone Temple Pilots. Together they're paying homage to the legacy of Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley and Scott Weiland.
The night is built around the sound of the early '90s—loud guitars and raw emotion—and the three bands are described as bringing back that spirit, celebrating the rebellion, vulnerability and intensity of the era. With three separate tributes on one bill, you'll hear the distinct flavors of the Seattle scene in a single evening: the melodic grit of Nirvana, the heavy, sludge-inflected harmonies of Alice in Chains and the groove-driven hard rock of Stone Temple Pilots.
