A yoga session set to a 1990s playlist followed by a harmonic sound bath using crystal bowls and voice, led by Alia J Khan.
Alia J Khan leads a free yoga and sound bath session at the Moody Amphitheater on Monday, October 5, from 6 PM to 7 PM. It's a two-part class that pairs two very different kinds of release in a single hour: an upbeat yoga flow followed by a harmonic sound bath.
Khan opens with the flow, which she drives with a playful 1990s playlist. From there, she eases the room down into a sound bath built from crystal bowls and voice. It's where she brings in her background as a musician, combining it with sound healing by singing the sound of Om. The shift from movement to stillness gives beginners and regular practitioners room to participate at their own pace.
The class is part of a weekly series run in partnership with Castle Hill Fitness and made free thanks to community sponsors. The Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park is one of Austin's most beloved outdoor venues, home to the park's signature fundraiser Glow in the Park and community celebrations like Día de los Muertos.
