35th Anniversary of Nirvana's 'Nevermind'

Hotel Vegas & The Volstead Lounge is marking the 35th anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind on Thursday, September 24, with a night that runs from 7 PM to 2 AM. It's a full evening built around the record, with a lineup that takes it from the dance floor to the stage and finally to the mic.

Things get moving early with Devilwoman on a 90s DJ set, keeping the room warm before the live acts take over. At 9 PM, Chepo and The Sons of Aberdeen step up, and then at 10 PM, Dankeshön plays Nevermind in its entirety—the whole album, start to finish, just as it was recorded. If you've only ever known the singles, it's a good chance to hear the record the way it was put together.

Once the live sets wrap, the night shifts gears. From midnight until 2 AM, the floor opens up for 90s karaoke, so you can take a turn yourself. Between the DJ, the live bands, and the karaoke, the whole thing spans seven hours.
