CD and vinyl release of 3 Balls of Fire at Antone's Records.
3 Balls of Fire are releasing their new record on CD and vinyl at Antone's Records on Tuesday, July 28. It's a double release, so you can pick up the album in either format. The event starts at 6 PM at the shop's Campus location, 2928 Guadalupe #101.
If you haven't spent much time there, Antone's Records is a vinyl emporium tied to the world-famous blues club Antone's. The shop opened in 1987, founded by the late Austin club impresario Clifford Antone, who started the live-music staple on Sixth Street a dozen years earlier. Since his death, the store has been run by some of his most loyal and knowledgeable music encyclopaedists: original Fabulous Thunderbirds drummer Mike Buck, his spouse and garage-rock-loving Austin native Eve Monsees, and grin merchant Forrest Coppock. They've kept vinyl prices at 30-years-ago levels rather than today's gouging, which is a rare thing to find in a city where the cost of living has climbed as fast as it has.

It's also a place that hosts live music among the racks. In-store performers have included Gary Clark Jr., Lazy Lester, and Paul Ray, and the shop took home the 2014 Best Bargain Vinyl Emporium Critics Pick in the Best of Austin Awards. That tradition continues here, with 3 Balls of Fire bringing their new material to the shop for the release. You can grab the record on CD or vinyl, and the whole thing kicks off at 6 PM on Tuesday, July 28, at 2928 Guadalupe #101.
