The longest-running artist and studio tour in Austin, where local artists open their homes and studios to the public for a grassroots art trail experience.
The 24th Annual Travis Heights Art Trail returns to the Travis Heights neighborhood on November 7 and 8, 2026, from 11 AM to 5 PM both days. It's the longest-running artist and studio tour in Austin, and it works exactly how it sounds: local artists open their homes and studios to the public for a weekend. Instead of one gallery or a single venue, the art is spread across the neighborhood, so you spend the day walking the streets of Travis Heights and popping into different houses to see what's being made.
It's a grassroots show created by and for the artists who live here. The people opening their doors are some of the city's longest-practicing artists, and the event has grown into a neighborhood tradition that brings thousands of visitors through the streets to connect with, be inspired by, and support Austin artists. Because it's a tour of private homes and studios, you get to see the work in the spaces where it's actually made, which is a different experience than seeing a finished piece on a white gallery wall.

Since the trail is spread across the neighborhood, you can make a day of it—walk from one studio to the next, take your time, and see as much or as little as you like. It's free to attend, and it runs from 11 AM to 5 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, so you can pick one day or stretch it across the whole weekend. Just keep in mind that all events are subject to change due to weather or other concerns, so it's worth checking for updates before you head out.
