Annual church festival with live music, authentic Mexican food, BBQ, family games, silent auction and community fun.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is hosting its annual Jamaica Festival over the weekend of September 4–6, one of East Austin's favorite neighborhood church festivals. It's a weekend where friends, families and neighbors gather at the church for live music, food, cold beers and community fun. The festival kicks off on Friday night and runs through Sunday, with the main celebration taking place on the church grounds.
The Friday night kick-off runs from 5 PM to 9 PM and pairs dinner with bingo. Sunday is the main day, running from 12 PM to 10 PM, and fills the church grounds with a full lineup of live acts, authentic Mexican food and BBQ, family games, a silent auction and a raffle drawing. DJ Geno keeps things moving between sets. The music starts at noon with an opening prayer accompanied by a high school band and mariachis, followed by Grupo Fuerza at 2 PM, Sencible de Tierra Caliente at 3 PM, and Ballet Folklórico Maricruz at 4 PM. Grupo Rumores takes over at 5:30 PM, Llamativa at 7 PM, and David Lee Garza y Los Musicales close it out at 8:30 PM.

Admission is free. No coolers or outside food and drink are allowed, so you'll want to buy your food and beer on-site. It's a long day of music and eating, so bring a lawn chair to make yourself comfortable. The festival is at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1206 E. 9th Street, Austin, TX 78702.
