If you are in the mood for a meal that leans into what is growing nearby, Canyon Grille in Lakeway has a new reason to be on your list. The restaurant has launched the Texas Table Series, a monthly dining program built around seasonal ingredients, local partnerships and Texas flavors. It is being framed as a seasonal dining experience that celebrates local ingredients and Texas food traditions, with a curated menu designed to let diners work their way through the region's flavors over time.

For anyone who likes to eat with the seasons, the format is the draw. Instead of a static menu, the series changes from month to month, which means the ingredients on the plate shift as the Texas growing season does. The program leans on local partnerships, so the produce and proteins are coming from nearby rather than being shipped in, and the whole thing is built around Texas food traditions. It is the kind of setup that rewards returning rather than a one-off visit, since each month brings a different set of ingredients and a different take on the region's flavors.
It is worth noting the context this comes into. Canyon Grille has been leaning into the farm-to-table approach for a while now: the restaurant closed briefly in early spring and reopened in April as a farm-to-table concept under new ownership, with a rotating seasonal menu and ingredients sourced from local farmers, including Gulf seafood several times a week. The Texas Table Series seems like a natural extension of that direction, turning the seasonal approach into a recurring event rather than just the way the everyday menu works.
Lakeway is a short drive from Austin, so this is an easy excuse to head out for the evening. The area has a fair amount of dining to choose from if you want to make a night of it: Sixty Three Restaurant & Bar at the Lakeway Resort & Spa does modern Texas with a view of Lake Travis; SP Brazilian Steakhouse on Ranch Road 620 S is a family churrascaria with 14 cuts of meat and a salad bar that runs close to 40 options; Sundancer Grill over at the Sail & Ski Yacht Club does brunch and dinner right on the water; The Grove Wine Bar & Kitchen also on 620 S has a patio, a wine list and an Italian-leaning menu; and Santa Catarina is the go-to for Mexican and Tex-Mex. If you are an early riser, Café Lago in Lakeway Village Square has been doing breakfast seven days a week for more than two decades, and Don Mario has moved into a larger, newer location in town.
If you want to see where some of this produce actually comes from, the Lakeway Nights Farmers Market at Lohmans Crossing is on Wednesday evenings from 4 to 8 p.m., with local produce, handmade goods, food stalls and live music. Between a market like that and a series like the Texas Table, Lakeway is shaping up as a decent spot for anyone who cares about where their food comes from. For now, the Texas Table Series is the new addition to the mix, and it is one to keep an eye on as the seasons change.
