The rest of September brings several Texas-country dates. Whitey Morgan and the 78’s play Thursday, September 24, with doors at 7:00 PM and general admission of $35. Wade Forster follows on Friday, September 25, and again on Sunday, September 27; both shows list Danno Simpson as the 8:00 PM opener, with tickets at $25. Creed Fisher takes the stage Saturday, September 26, with doors at 8:00 PM and general admission of $25 plus a $5.50 service fee. Gruene Hall’s calendar also includes dance lessons earlier in the month, including line dancing on September 10, while live music is presented there throughout the year. The venue dates to 1878 and remains in the Gruene Historic District.
October starts with two Casey Donahew performances on Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3. Gruene Hall is not the only place to hear live music in New Braunfels. Old Sett’s Cafe in downtown New Braunfels is known for blues, country, and rock, with music scheduled nightly. Old Braunfels Brewing Company hosts local and regional bands on weekends. The Grapevine and Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar also present musical acts and dance lessons. For a different style of concert, the New Braunfels Symphony Orchestra performs classical programs during the year. Local performers add another layer to the calendar: brother-and-sister duo Jess & Dave Music play covers and original songs, while the Staudt Brothers bring a Southern Rock and Red Dirt sound from Victoria. With several established venues and a steady list of September and October dates, New Braunfels offers plenty of ways to plan an evening around live music this fall.
