An interactive session for middle and high school students before the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert, featuring music professionals and teen musicians.
UpTempo Teen Night is back at the Atlanta Symphony Hall on Thursday, October 22, as part of the ASO's Delta Classical Series. It's a night built for middle and high school students, and the whole thing is designed to let them in on how a concert actually comes together before the full orchestra takes the stage.
The evening starts with an interactive session led by music professionals that opens up the program. Each session pairs a guest speaker with a teen musician, and they spend the time spotlighting composers, performers, and educators who offer their own perspectives on music today. It's less of a lecture and more of a conversation, and it's meant to give you a way into the music before you hear it live. The session is held in the Beauchamp Carr Room at the Woodruff Arts Center, and the main concert follows in Symphony Hall.
One ticket covers both parts of the night, so you get the pre-concert session and the full ASO performance. The youth and family programming at the venue is supported by The Goizueta Foundation, and the concert itself is part of the Delta Classical Series. If you've never seen the ASO in person, this is a low-stakes way to get in the door.
