Concert by rapper Token, known for his rapid-fire hip-hop style and industrial production, at The Masquerade.
Token plays The Masquerade on Thursday, October 15, at the Purgatory Stage. He's a rapper from north of Boston who built his name on a blistering, rapid-fire delivery that recalls early Eminem, paired with introspective storytelling and industrial-tinged production.
He broke through in 2015 with No Sucka MC's, a freestyle Sway Calloway called one of the year's best on Sway in the Morning and that XXL later ranked among the show's greatest performances. His following grew with the 2016 mixtape Eraser Shavings and 2018's Between Somewhere, which produced tracks like "YouTube Rapper" featuring Tech N9ne, "Household Name," and "Flamingo."
In 2022 he released Pink Is Better through his own label Never Too Different and Atlantic Records, featuring JID, Rico Nasty, Benny The Butcher, and Lil Skies. His album I'm Not Supposed To Be Here won Album of the Year at the Boston Music Awards. His latest record, I'm Leaving Soon, arrived on July 24.
