A contemporary jazz performance by The Oz Noy Trio, featuring guitarist Oz Noy, drummer Dave Weckl and organist Brian Charette, at The Velvet Note.
The Oz Noy Trio plays The Velvet Note in Alpharetta from Thursday, October 22 through Saturday, October 24, with two shows each night at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM. It's part of the venue's Signature Series, which brings internationally acclaimed artists into an intimate room where you're only a few feet away from the musicians.
The trio is led by guitarist Oz Noy, who's known as one of the most original voices in contemporary jazz and fusion. He's performed and recorded with Eric Johnson, Mike Stern, Richard Bona and Vinnie Colaiuta. On drums is Dave Weckl, a longtime member of the Chick Corea Elektric Band and a multiple Modern Drummer magazine award winner. Rounding out the group is Hammond B-3 organist Brian Charette, a Grammy nominee who has played with Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell and Chaka Khan. The venue describes the music they make together as spontaneous, fearless and impossible to predict.
