Annual celebration of the young musicians of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program, with emcee Mark Kendall.
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is bringing its Talent Development Program Musicale to Atlanta Symphony Hall on Saturday, November 14, from 3 PM to 5 PM. It's the annual celebration of the musicians in the ASO's Talent Development Program, and this year the afternoon puts those young players front and center. The whole thing is presented under the leadership of Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann.
Running the show is emcee Mark Kendall, a local radio and media figure who hosts WABE's What's Good in Atlanta? podcast and founded Cool Cool Cool Productions. Having a familiar voice like his guiding the afternoon keeps the focus on the music while giving the program a bit of a local, conversational feel.
For context, the Talent Development Program is the ASO's way of working with young musicians, and the Musicale is the one day a year they step out of the wings and take the stage themselves. It's a chance to hear them perform as a group rather than as part of the larger orchestra, so the spotlight stays on the students throughout the afternoon.
