A live concert celebrating 35 years of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise, featuring a rock ensemble performing iconic music and fan favourites from the series.
Sonic Live In Concert comes to the Fox Theatre on Saturday, October 24, a show that marks 35 years of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise. It's a live concert bringing together the music and moments from the series, with a live ensemble of rock musicians, electronics and vocalists performing the defining songs from across the franchise. Alongside those, they'll play instrumental renditions of fan favorites from the Genesis era to the present day, with musical Easter eggs woven into the arrangements.
The set highlights the creative legacy of composers Jun Senoue and Tomoya Ohtani, whose work has defined Sonic's sound across generations. The music spans the series' history, from the early Sega Genesis days through to the modern titles, so the program pulls from several different eras of the franchise. The live ensemble handles the songs with a full band—rock musicians, electronics and vocalists—rather than just a playback of the game tracks, and the instrumental arrangements are built around the melodies and themes that have run through the series for over three decades.
