A cappella group Pentatonix plays State Farm Arena in Atlanta on their North American Christmas in the City Tour.
Pentatonix are playing State Farm Arena on Thursday, December 10, as part of their North American Christmas in the City Tour. It's an a cappella show, so the whole set is voices onlyβno instruments, just the five of them singing everything. The Atlanta date falls right in the middle of December, which fits the holiday theme of the tour.
If you're not familiar with them, Pentatonix is a five-member group from Arlington, Texas: Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kristin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee. They first made a name for themselves when they won the third season of NBC's The Sing-Off in 2011, and they grew their following by uploading videos to YouTube. Since then, they've sold over 10 million albums worldwide, with two hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200: their self-titled Pentatonix in 2015 and the platinum-certified A Pentatonix Christmas in 2016. They've also picked up three Grammy Awards along the way.
Their reach goes beyond the YouTube clips. They've performed everywhere from the White House to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and they've collaborated with artists like Kelly Clarkson and Lindsey Stirling. One of their most notable recordings is a cover of "Jolene" with Dolly Parton, which earned them a 2017 Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. This Atlanta stop is one date in a multi-city North American tour, so they'll be bringing the same holiday set they're taking across the continent.
