John Oliver

John Oliver is playing the Fox Theatre on Monday, December 28, 2026. It's a stand-up comedy show, and he's the only one on the bill.

Most of us know him as the host of HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, where he spends each episode taking a deep dive into a specific news story, political trend, or current event and working it over with heavy satire. That's the work that earned him an Emmy, but he didn't start there. He won an Emmy as a writer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and guest-hosted that show during the summer of 2013, which is what put him on HBO's radar in the first place.

Before the television work took over, he was doing stand-up. He put out his first special, John Oliver: Terrifying Times, and hosted four seasons of John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show on Comedy Central. He also co-hosted the satirical podcast The Bugle with Andy Zaltzman until 2015. Even with the show running, he still returns to the stage on his breaks, playing sold-out venues around the world and keeping up a monthly residency alongside Seth Meyers at New York's Beacon Theatre since 2023. And if you've seen Disney's live-action The Lion King, he's the voice of Zazu.

So this is him back in the format he started with. The show is at the Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St NE, on Monday, December 28, 2026. It starts at 7 PM, and doors open an hour before at 6 PM.
