Free lunchtime series of live jazz by local all-stars at the historic Sweet Auburn Curb Market.
Jazz Fridays are back at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market on Friday, November 20, from 12 PM to 2 PM. It's part of a three-date series that runs through the end of the year, with the other sessions on October 16 and December 18. Each one brings live jazz to the market during the lunch rush, so you can catch a set without having to clear your whole evening.
The music comes from local jazz all-stars, and the series is presented by Arts Unplugged Events with Guardian Restoration and Vieux Carré Bistro. It's not a formal concert hall setup—the musicians play while the market is open, and the music becomes the backdrop for people grabbing lunch and running errands. If you're working downtown, it's an easy way to break up the day.
For those who haven't spent much time there, the Sweet Auburn Curb Market is Atlanta's historic Municipal Market. It's a brick building that opened in 1924 at 209 Edgewood Ave SE in the Sweet Auburn district, and it's still a working market. Inside, you'll find produce, meat, seafood, sweets, and eateries spread across roughly 30 food and retail vendors. On these Fridays, the market turns into an open-air lunchtime venue, with the jazz playing while shoppers and downtown workers eat. Admission to the market and the music is free, and food and drink are pay-as-you-go at the vendor stalls.

Getting there is straightforward: the market is accessible on foot, by bike or scooter, or by MARTA. The organizers suggest coming for lunch and staying for the music, which runs from 12 PM to 2 PM. Since it's a free event, you can just drop in whenever you have a window during your lunch hour.
