Pop-punk night with In Her Own Words, playing their album 'Unfamiliar' in full, and Every Avenue at Purgatory in The Masquerade.
In Her Own Words and Every Avenue play The Masquerade on Sunday, October 18, with the former performing their album Unfamiliar in full. It's a double bill that pulls from two different eras of pop-punk, and for In Her Own Words, the set is a specific anniversary play: 2026 marks ten years since Unfamiliar came out.
In Her Own Words have spent the last decade building their following on brutally honest songwriting and big, singalong choruses. Unfamiliar was the breakthrough record that helped define a generation of emotionally charged pop-punk, and frontman Joey Fleming describes the band as kids trying to process anxiety, heartbreak, and growing pains when they made it. He says it feels surreal that fans are still screaming those lyrics back to them.
Every Avenue brings their own history to the night. The Michigan-born alternative rock and pop-punk outfit played a role in the late-2000s Warped Tour era, and they've toured worldwide alongside bands like Boys Like Girls, The Summer Set, New Found Glory, Secondhand Serenade, and Yellowcard. While this tour looks back, In Her Own Words have spent the last year working on a brand new full-length album, which they describe as their most ambitious and emotionally honest material to date, with new music expected in 2026.
