All-ages night of pop, emo and indie music with Hit Like A Girl and Cash honey at The Masquerade's Altar room in downtown Atlanta.
Hit Like A Girl play The Masquerade on Monday, October 26, with Cash honey opening. It's an all-ages night in the Altar room, so you can bring whoever you want. Doors open at 7 PM.
Hit Like A Girl pulls from pop, emo, indie and even hardcore, channeling yearning, love and loss into intimate, catchy songs. If you're into Tigers Jaw, Future Teens or Indigo De Souza, this is right in that neighborhood. The emo and indie side of things keeps it melodic, while the hardcore influence adds a bit of grit to the edges, and the pop sensibility holds it together. It's the kind of music that works as well when you're listening alone as it does in a room full of people.
Cash honey opens the bill. They describe their sound as a vibrant fusion of old-school rock and roll and modern, sexy, femme-fronted rock. The project started as a solo effort by singer-songwriter Ashton May and has since grown into an electric collective, so it's a full band on stage rather than just a singer and a guitar. Between the two acts, you've got a night that moves from the intimate, yearning side of indie and emo over to a more straightforward, rock-and-roll energy.

Both sets are in the Altar room at The Masquerade, 50 Lower Alabama Street #110 in downtown Atlanta. Doors open at 7 PM, and it's an all-ages show, so there's no age limit on who can come. If you're coming from outside downtown, keep in mind it's a Monday night, so plan your trip accordingly.
