Free Halloween organ recital presented by the Atlanta Chapter of the American Guild of Organists on the historic Alston Memorial Organ.
Haunted Harmonies for Organ comes to St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Friday, October 23, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. It's a free Halloween organ recital featuring local organists, put on by the Atlanta Chapter of the American Guild of Organists as part of their Members' Recital series.
The instrument they'll be playing is the Alston Memorial Pipe Organ, one of the finest in the Southeast. St. Luke's has a deep choral tradition in the Anglican style, and its Adult Choir is made up of volunteer and professional singers working through a repertoire that spans five centuries. The church also runs a graded choir program for children and youth from age three through high school, affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music and taught using the Voice for Life curriculum, with around 65 choristers enrolled. The parish also maintains a partnership with ensemble vim, a chamber music collective that brings awareness to the South's cultural landscape.
