Free all-ages show by the alternative metal band Flagman at The Masquerade.
Flagman play The Masquerade on Wednesday, October 28, with doors opening at 7 PM. It's a single-band bill, so they're the only act on the night.
If you're not familiar with them, Flagman is an alternative metal band founded in 2015 by Sam Stewart and Cody Singleton. They describe their sound as "ADHD Alt Metal," a high-energy style that pulls from two very different directions. On one side, they look to '90s schizo-rockers like Primus and Mr. Bungle, bands known for shifting gears and keeping you on your toes. On the other, they lean into the heaviness and irreverence of System of a Down. It's a combination that puts them more in the weird, unpredictable corner of metal than the straightforward one.
Over the years, they've shared stages with Battles, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Hed PE, and Man on Man. They've also worked through several lineup changes and the usual grind of touring, but they've kept that same sound throughout. If you've ever liked the heavier side of the '90s—the kind of music that doesn't sit still—that's exactly where they fit in.
