Chad Gray, vocalist of Mudvayne and Hellyeah, plays the Buckhead Theatre on his '30 Years of Madness' tour, with support from Butcher Babies and Devils Cut.
Chad Gray brings his 30 Years of Madness tour to Buckhead Theatre on Monday, October 19, starting at 7 PM. It's a career-spanning set that pulls from both Mudvayne and Hellyeah, the two bands Gray has fronted since the mid-90s.
Gray's story starts in Peoria, Illinois, where he quit a factory job and formed Mudvayne in 1996. Their 2000 debut, L.D. 50, sold over half a million copies within a year, and they put out four more albums before going on hiatus in 2010. They reunited in 2021 and released new music in the summer of 2025, so the set should touch on both the early records and the new material. In 2006, Gray formed the supergroup Hellyeah with Nothingface's Tom Maxwell, Mudvayne's Greg Tribbett, and Pantera/Damageplan's Vinnie Paul, who died in 2018. This tour pairs hits from both bands in one night.
On stage with him are touring guitarist Marcus Rafferty, drummer Devin Attard, bassist Nick Villarreal, and guitarist Joe Bonasorte. Butcher Babies and Devils Cut open the bill. Gray has described the first five shows of the tour as "absolutely incredible," and he's spoken about how heavy metal saved his life, saying he wants fans to "have some fucking fun" together.
