Jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval performs live at the Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta.
Arturo Sandoval plays the Rialto Center on Wednesday, January 22, 2027, at 8 PM. If you're not familiar with the name, Sandoval is a Cuban-born jazz trumpeter, pianist, and composer, a virtuoso of the trumpet and flügelhorn who's widely regarded as one of the most influential jazz horn players of his time. His career has picked up a collection of accolades few jazz musicians ever touch: the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a Kennedy Center Honor, an Emmy, and ten Grammy or Latin Grammy Awards.
Beyond the stage, his writing extends to film scoring. He worked on The Mambo Kings and on several Clint Eastwood films, including Richard Jewell, which was filmed right here in Atlanta. That gives the night a bit of a local connection, even if the music itself is about as international as it gets.
