Atlanta's most eccentric neighborhood is about to lean into its reputation. The Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade returns this weekend, running Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, from noon to 7 pm. It's a free, two-day takeover of the neighborhood about two and a half miles east of downtown, and it's long been billed as the biggest and spookiest Halloween celebration in the Southeast, with USA Today and the Travel Channel both ranking it among the top 10 Halloween events in the country.

The 2026 theme is "Cryptids, Creatures and Community Legends," and the lineup leans hard into it. On Saturday, the Monster Sticker Hunt runs from noon to 5 pm at Findley Plaza, using stickers made with Little Art School students. Later, the Bat Cave Rave takes over the L5P Community Center from 5 to 10 pm, and the Atlanta Circus Alliance closes the evening with a performance at 7 pm. Sunday is the big one: the parade rolls down Moreland Avenue at 1 pm, and it's the centerpiece of the whole weekend. It's not a small production, either — putting the parade together runs over $50,000.
Beyond the parade, there's plenty to do on both days. The Artist Market sits on Euclid Avenue by GVG from noon to 6 pm, with more than 100 art vendors, and live music plays at Euclid Yard behind Star Bar. The neighborhood fills with roaming creatures, from stilt walkers to circus performers, and the L5P Laboratory of Horror turns the old elementary school at the community center into an immersive experience. For families, there's a Critters from the Crypt pet costume contest, and for anyone who likes a good story, the Queens of the Crypt ghost story is led by drag queens, specifically ALT3R. If you're in the mood for something a bit more spirited, the ghost tours come with a boozy option, and Trees for Tuition hosts pumpkin smashing over at Euclid Yard.
It's worth knowing the neighborhood itself is part of the draw. Little 5 Points is Atlanta's original historic arts and culture district, often called the "bohemian center of the South" or "Atlanta's Hippie Hood," which is about as fitting a backdrop for a Halloween festival as you'll find. The whole thing is put on by the Little 5 Points Business Association, a unified nonprofit, working with the Little 5 Points Cultural District, so it's a community effort through and through.
A few practical notes before you head out. The Artist Market and live music run both days, so you don't have to cram everything into Sunday. The parade is at 1 pm on Moreland Avenue, and the floats park at the L5P Community Center afterward if you want to see them up close. With the festival spread across Findley Plaza, Euclid Yard, Euclid Avenue and the community center, it's the kind of event you can wander through at your own pace rather than rushing from one thing to the next. Whether you're there for the parade, the art, or just to see the neighborhood in full costume, it's one of the more uniquely Atlanta ways to spend a weekend in October.
